Purpose/Uses/Description : 


Native to California foothills from Santa Clara to San Diego. Narrow dark green leaves with woolly bottoms. Excellent for providing low maintenance erosion control on sunny hillsides. A very important plant for honey bees, as it provides food for them much of the year. 


Growth Form/Defining Characteristics: Clumping Bush, 1-3’ High, 4 ‘ wide. White / pinkish flowers in dense clusters. 

Light:  Full sun 

Water:  Moderate water, Drought tolerant once stablished 

Soil: Sandy loam, Standard Potting mix, Tolerant of clay and other low quality soil types but should be watered regularly in the first year. 

Hardiness (Sunset And/or USDA Zones): Sunset zones 7-9, 12-24
