Native to Turkey and the Mediterranean, sweet marjoram is a tasty herb that adds a dash of delightful flavor to dishes. As part of the oregano family, marjoram is the sweet cousin to oregano’s earthy spice. It makes a fine seasoning for meats, scrambled eggs, salads, vinaigrettes, casseroles, and tomato dishes. Studies have shown anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, and marjoram has been used to relieve digestive issues and infections. Fresh or dried, its leaves may be used in teas and extracts. Wonderfully, it is known to help regulate menstrual cycles and restore hormonal balance. Delicious and nutritious!
